What is BS3 vehicles

BS3 vehicles stands for Bharat Stage 3. It is emission standards set by central pollution control board which comes under Government of IndiaBharat Stage is based on European regulation and were first introduced in 2000.

They were first introduced in 2005 in NCR(National Capital region) . As we all know that in India pollution is a major concern in cities like Delhi where pollution is out of control.But in 2017 March the apex court of the country The Supreme court of the country ordered a freeze on registration and sale of BS3 vehicles and to kick in BS4 all over the country.Many auto manufacturers rolled out a massive cut in prices of the BS3 vehicles as the Order from supreme court was a bolt from blue.

Many Automobile engineers also raised their concern about the use of BS4 refined fuel which will be used for old BS3 vehicles.The road map of the BS vehicles was laid out by  National Auto Fuel policy as follows in the image.
