The ban on plastic will come into effect from today(23 June 2018) in Maharastra. Because of the overuse of plastics in todays lifestyle the ban on plastic was essential to curb and save the animals and other resources from pollution.The plastic ban is enforced by Maharastra pollution control board . The Maharastra government gave a 3 month notice period to get rid of existing stocks of plastics. Other than plastic used for medicinal drugs, product wrapped to export, plastics used at the manufacturing stage , handling of solid waste and milk all other plastic products are banned.
